Town Of Wellesley Bacon Street Bridge Construction Update

This work will take place 24 hours a day beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29.

Major construction work on the Bacon Street bridge replacement project is starting soon.

Contractors will be installing new bridge foundations at track level. This work will take place 24 hours a day beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29. Traffic in the area will be detoured throughout the weekend beginning on Friday night, March 26 and ending early Monday morning, March 29. A map of the detour is below.

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to avoid this area and seek other routes. The project schedule is weather dependent and may change without notice.

MBTA commuter rail service will be suspended on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28. The MBTA will provide alternate bus transportation. Visit the MBTA alerts page for up-to-date information.

Message boards in the area will display information for drivers and show detour routes.
