At 7 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Linden Street and Weston Road where a pedestrian had reportedly been struck by a vehicle. When Officer Joseph arrived he spoke to a family that had been using the crosswalk to cross the street when a driver in a black Jeep ran the red light. The man involved said he yelled at the driver for not stopping, then the driver yelled back and threw a can of seltzer water out of the window, striking a woman. Officers were able to track the vehicle based on the license plate number given to them at the scene and speak with the owner at his home on Upson Road. According to Kyle Jung, the operator of the vehicle, he did fail to stop at the light, but when he attempted to apologize the man in the crosswalk began yelling at him. Jung reportedly admitted to throwing the can, although he said he did not mean to hit the woman with it. Jung, 20, of 25 Upson Rd., was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery of a person older than 60 with a dangerous weapon.
