UPDATED: Wellesley Police Arrest Underage With Booze at Footbridge

The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Officer Carrasquilo was aware that a walking path behind Town Hall, leading away from the Wellesley Housing Authority property, was used by some teenagers as a hangout for drinking and smoking marijuana. It came to his attention that a group of youths were using it on August 12, around 4:30 p.m.

He went out and checked the area, and found a 18-year-old on the footbridge, near a backpack containing both alcohol and marijuana. She was arrested and charged as a person under 21 with alcohol. She was transported to the station, booked, and later released on personal recognizance.

Editor's note: The case was later dismissed.
