Wellesley Crash Kills Two Teens, Leaves One Hospitalized
An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old died in the Route 9 crash.

WELLESLEY, MA — A truck with three teens inside crashed on Route 9 in Wellesley on Wednesday night, killing two of the boys inside and leaving another hospitalized. The driver was 17-years-old as well as one of the passengers, another passenger was 18.
The teens were driving in a white pickup truck down Worcester Street when it veered off the roadway and hit a stone wall, according to police. The car didn't stop until it hit a cement wall — police believe the car may have been speeding.
Patrick Cash, the 18-year-old passenger who was riding up front, was thrown from the truck during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The other two teens were stuck inside of the truck and had to be pulled out by Wellesley fire crews.

Both teens were rushed to the hospital but the 17-year-old driver died of his injuries at the hospital. Because of their age, police will not release the boys' names.
The one surviving teen is still hospitalized with "significant non-life threatening injuries."

Police do not believe any other cars were involved in the crash.
The Wellesley Police Department is working with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office
to investigate the crash. The Wellesley Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit will lead the investigation.
