Wellesley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Wellesley is August 30. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Wellesley Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/23 - 8/24: New Professional Staff
• 8/28 - 8/29: All Professional Staff
• 8/30: First Day of School
• 8/30 - 9/8: Kindergarten Begins - Half Days

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/11: Kindergarten Full Days Start
• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/18: Early Dismissal - WMS and WHS Only

November

• 11/7: Early Dismissal PreK-5 - Parent Conferences
• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/22: Early Dismissal All Schools
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)
• 11/27: No School for Students (Professional Day)

December

• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Year-end Vacation)

January

• 1/1: No School (Year-end Vacation)
• 1/2: School Reopens
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (February Vacation Week)

March

• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/3: Early Dismissal PreK-5 - Parent Conferences
• 4/16 - 4/20: No School (April Vacation Week)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/1: WHS Grad/Half Day - WHS Only
• 6/20: Last Day for Students (Assumes 5 Snow Days), Half Day
• 6/21: Last Day for Teachers
