Wellesley Sees Slight Uptick in Coronavirus Cases

Wellesley was put in the "yellow" zone in last week's report from the state.

WELLESLEY, MA — The number of coronavirus cases rose in Wellesley last week, according to the state's data. Wellesley reported 99 cases of coronavirus in the two weeks leading up to April 10, up from 86 the week before.

The average daily incidence rate was higher than the previous week's, increasing to 23.8 from 20.7. The percent positivity increased from 0.70 percent to 1.11 percent. Wellesley is labeled "yellow" in the state's risk assessment, the same as the week before.

The state reported 59 communities were high-risk last week, down from 77 the week before. Massachusetts reported 26,717 cases over the past two weeks, with a daily incidence rate of 27.4 cases per 100,000 people and a percent positivity of 2.3 percent.
