Wellesley Smith & Wollensky Celebrates Grand Opening

Forget a ribbon cutting ceremony, this place celebrated their opening with a rib-eye cutting!

WELLESLEY, MA — Wellesley Square has a new restaurant that knows how to celebrate an opening in style.

Smith & Wollensky held their grand opening event Wednesday night. The steak and seafood restaurant chose to forgo a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and open by holding a rib-eye cutting ceremony.

The Smith & Wollensky Wellesley location includes a 225-seat dining room, a 25-seat indoor bar, a small patio and three private dining spaces for 80 seated guests or 100 for a cocktail-style reception.

About 350 people were expected to attend the private event to celebrate the opening.

Full dinner service starts May 24, followed by lunch service May 29.
