What Do You Think About Wellesley's Ranking in the Best Schools List?

The Wellelsey Public Schools ranked 10th in the Boston Magazine Best Schools list in the September 2013 issue.

  5. Boxborough
  6. Concord
  7. Lincoln
  8. Westford
  9. Wayland 
  10. Wellesley

According to Boston Magazine, Wellesley had the highest overall SAT scores with a total of 1,885.

  • Graduation rate – 98.3 percent
  • Percent going to college – 88.4 percent
  • Per pupil expenditures -- $$15,421  
  • Percentage scoring 3-5 on AP exams – 95.1 percent

According to the magazine:

“To assemble this year’s Best Schools list, we spent months compiling numbers—released by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education—from 147 municipalities in Greater Boston.

"The schools in the cities and towns that topped our proprietary ranking stood out across 20 different categories, including student-to-teacher ratio, average class size, expenditures per pupil, rate of college matriculation, and results on tests such as the SAT and the MCAS.”
