What is on the Wellesley High Summer Reading List?

School might be out but that doesn't mean learning is over. Grab a book and relax

For high school students summer means no school, high temperatures, a summer job and hopefully some vacations, but with all those distractions it's easy to forget about summer reading.

This year students at Wellesley High have been given the opportunity to read any books of their choice, although some classes have additional required reading.

Grades 9-12 English CP, ACP, read any two books.

Grade 9 English H, read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and any one book.
Grade 10 H, read Grapes of Wrath by J. Steinbeck and any book by an American author.

Grade 11 H, read 1984 by George Orwell and one book.
Grade 12 H, read A Prayer for Owen Meany by J. Irving and one book.

Humanities H, ACP, read Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri and "There is No Race in the Schoolyard” by Amanda Lewis.
