After DA Drops Case, Westford Academy Teacher Won't Return
"Michael Colson has resigned from his employment in the Westford public schools," said Superintendent Bill Olsen.

WESTFORD, MA — A Westford Academy history teacher who had been accused of harassing a resident through Facebook will not return to the school.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office dropped charges against Michel Colson last month, saying it was unable to meet its burden of proof. Colson has been on leave since winter, and at Monday's school committee meeting School Superintendent Bill Olsen said Colson had resigned.
"Michael Colson has resigned from his employment in the Westford public schools, his formal resignation will be effective on June 22 of this year," Olsen said. "Mr. Colson will not be returning to the district as a teacher. I know there may be some questions, but we are not allowed to discuss personnel matters."

Colson was accused of harassing a Westford mother and stealing the identity of a student through fake Facebook and email accounts. The D.A.'s office charged him, but his arraignment was delayed twice before last month's announcement that the office was dropping the case.
