Alan Robert Valcourt, 53, of Westford

WESTFORD - Alan Robert Valcourt, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 22, 2016 at his home in Westford. For 13 years, he was the husband of Tara M. (Daly) Valcourt.

Alan was born in Lowell on Sept. 6, 1962, a son of Robert and Linda Valcourt who survive him, of Westford. He was the son of the late Edith (Brule) Valcourt. He attended Westford schools and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School where he studied the electrical trade.

Prior to his illness, he was employed as an electrician at the restoration of the Abbot Mill apartment complex in Westford.

Alan was an avid fan of the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots. He volunteered much of his time with the Westford Pop Warner Cheerleading and enjoyed ice fishing and camping. Most of all, he loved spending his time with his family, especially his beloved son and daughter.

Besides his wife, Tara and his father and mother, Robert and Linda, he is survived by his two children, Drew Alan Valcourt of Lowell and Samantha Brooke Valcourt of Westford; a sister, Donna Barry and her husband Jack of Auburn, NH; a brother, Richard Valcourt of Westford; a step-brother, Glenn Lavoie and his wife Deborah of Lowell; a step-sister, Amy-Lynn Martin and her husband Andrew of Westford; his father and mother-in-law, William and Patricia Daly of Northbridge; a great niece, Emma Jane; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Visitation at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Monday, Feb. 29 from 4 until 7pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St, Westford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Vincent de Paul Society - St. Catherine Parish, 107 N. Main St., Westford, MA 01886 or to the Westford Ambulance Fund, PO Box 197, Westford, MA 01886.
