Boy, 13, Struck While Riding Bike In Pepperell

The boy has life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the car police said hit him stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.

PEPPERELL, MA — A 13-year-old has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle Sunday night. The boy has been flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Police Chief David Scott said the boy was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu around 7:15 p.m. on Shawnee Road. The driver of the car, a 62-year-old Pepperell man, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.

The boy was wearing his helmet, Scott said.
