Cause of Keyes Road Fire Not Found

The following are excerpts from the Westford Fire Department log.


Oct. 17, 8:33 p.m. - A brush fire approximately 60" by 40" was discovered on Keyes Road near the Tyngsboro border. The fire was extinguished and the cause was unknown.

Oct. 19, 6:58 a.m. - One Forge Village resident reported a fire near East Prescott Street, but it turned out to just be a smokestack.

Oct. 21, 7:11 p.m. - Smoke reported along Groton Road near Route 3 could not be found. 

Oct. 22, 4:25 p.m. - Three units were dispatched for a report of smoke inside a house on Chandler Road. The house was checked, but no smoke was found.

Oct. 26, 2:12 p.m. - Westford firefighters aided their colleagues in Groton fighting a brush fire.
