David A. Anderson, 52: Westford Native, Nashoba Tech Class of '81

Anderson struggled with the "stigma of mental illness," but did his best to "bring about a smile."

WESTFORD, MA - David A. Anderson passed away suddenly on January 31, 2016, at the age of 52.

David grew up in Westford, graduating from Nashoba Valley Technical High School in 1981. He was a fun, loving and caring person with a heart of gold. Unfortunately, David dealt with the stigma of mental illness, yet when able to he would still bring about a smile and let those around him know that there are always positives to look towards.

He enjoyed sports and excelled at them throughout his high school days. David also enjoyed growing up on the family farm and will be sadly missed by his family.

He is survived by his parents Carl and Eileen Anderson of Westford, owners of the former Anderson Fruit Farm. He is also survived by his 6 brothers and sisters and their families. Colleen (Anderson) Lynam and her husband Shaun: Joan Anderson of Westford: Carl A. Anderson and his wife Pam of Port Lucie, FL: Sheila (Anderson) Whyte and her husband Gordon of Melbourne, Australia: Janice (Anderson) Stack and her husband Robert of Orange: and Derek D. Anderson and his wife Amy of Westford. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may call at the J.A. Healy Sons Funeral Home (57 N. Main St.), on Thursday , Feb. 4 from 4 -8 p.m. His funeral will be held Friday morning with a graveside service to take place at 11:30 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. Interment to follow.
