She told police she tried to "forge ahead to the next crossing" but got stuck on the tracks.

AYER, MA – A car stuck on the railroad tracks in Ayer had to be towed early Wednesday morning, police said. Pan Am Railways called police shortly after midnight to report a car driving east on the railroad tracks.
While officers were heading to the scene, the driver called police to say she was stuck on the tracks near the Sandy Pond crossing. The 42-year-old Ayer resident told police her GPS device turned her onto the tracks. She said she could not back up, so she tried to "forge ahead to the next crossing," according to police.
Police found the car about 75 feet east of the Sandy Pond Road crossing with major undercarriage damage. The driver was uninjured.
