Longtime Townsend Police Sergeant, Wife Die In NH Crash
Police said Sgt. John Johnson and his wife, Heidi, were killed in a wrong-way crash. No charges have been announced

EPPING, NH — A longtime Townsend Police sergeant and his wife were killed in a New Hampshire car crash. Police said Sgt. John Johnson and his wife, Heidi, were the victims of a wrong-way crash on Route 101 in Epping.
New Hampshire State Police said Ryan Kittredge, 31, of Derry, drove his Dodge pickup truck head-on into the couple's Chevrolet Impala. Kittredge was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.
Police said drug or alcohol appear to have factored into the crash. No charged have been announced.

A third car was involved after the crash. The driver of the cat suffered non-life threatening injuries.
John Johnson, 58, of New Ipswich, was off duty at the time. Heidi Johnson, also of New Ipswich, was 57.

Johnson served the community since 1978, the Townsend Police Department said.
