Looking at Westford's Child Poverty, Plumbing, Newcomers and Veterans

'Each week Patch uses maps to take a look at our community in a series called Newscruncher.

Here's a look back at the topics from this week.

Newcomers and Veterans

There's no particular concentration of veterans anywhere in town, although the amount of residents who have moved into Forge Village and Parker Village in the past three years is much larger than the rate in Nabnasset and Westford Center.

Child Poverty

Child poverty is at its greatest in Forge Village, with Nabnasset and Westford Center not reporting any, although it's still four times lower in Forge than in most parts of Lowell just down the street in Ayer.

Low-Income Families Without Plumbing

Forge Village has the highest rate of poor families, but again much lower than other nearby areas.

Everybody in Westford Center has plumbing, almost everybody elsewhere in town does.
