Obituary: Rajiv Paluri, 13-Year-Old Westford Boy Killed in Skiing Accident
He died Saturday after authorities said he crashed into a tree at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. His funeral is Thursday.

Rajiv Paluri, the 13-year-old Westford boy who died in a skiing accident at Nashoba Valley Ski Area Saturday, was remembered as an excellent student with many friends.
Authorities said Paluri was skiing on a difficult trail when he lost control and struck a tree. He was wearing a helmet.

His death shocked students and staff at Blanchard Middle School, where he attended eighth grade.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home in Chelmsford. Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Rajiv Paluri, 13, of Westford, MA, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from injuries sustained in a skiing accident in Westford.
Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Srini and Rahhika Paluri.
Rajiv was an 8th grade student at the Blanchard Middle School in Westford. He was an excellent student, who was well liked by his fellow students and the staff at the school.
Rajiv’s favorite subjects were zoology and geography. He loved the “Harry Potter” series, played soccer and basketball, and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox. He knew the statistics of all the players. Rajvi was a member of the Blanchard School 8 White Ski team.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Riya, a 5th grade student at the John A. Crisafulli School; uncle and aunt, Anand “Andy” and Vasantha Paluri of NJ; aunt, Anu Vaddi of India and cousins, Reeve Paluri, Anika Paluri, Nivi Vaddi and Vishnavi Vaddi.
Visiting hours Thurs. 9-10:30 a.m. Religious Ceremony 10:30 a.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford. Burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the NESSP (New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar) (www.nessp.org) and/or Indian Circle for Caring USA Inc. (www.ouricc.org).
