Reminder: Westford Water Restrictions are in Effect
Voluntary water restrictions went into effect May 1 and residents are asked to limit their water usage on certain days and times.

WESTFORD, MA - Voluntary water restrictions went into effect May 1 and the town is asking that residents please keep them in mind. The restrictions will continue through October 31. If mandatory water restrictions go into effect it will be broadcast on media outlets and posted in government buildings including the library.
Westford Water Department customers are asked to restrict outdoor watering to the odd/even schedule (odd numbered addresses on odd days and even numbered addresses water on even days) and between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.
Non-essential water use means those that are not required:

- For health or safety reasons
- By regulation
- For the production of food and fiber
- For the maintenance of livestock
- To meet the core functions of a business
Non-essential outdoor water usage subject to mandatory restrictions includes:
- Irrigation of lawns using sprinklers or automated irrigation systems
- Filling of swimming pools, washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways, or sidewalks, except as necessary to apply paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement, or cement
- Washing of vehicles
- Any other use deemed non-essential by the Water Department
