Week of 3/1: Westford School Committee Meeting Preview
The School Committee is planning to discuss superintendent finalists, a busing change, and a vote on next year's school calendar.

WESTFORD, MA — The Westford School Committee’s fourth meeting of 2021 is scheduled for March 1 at 7 p.m.
Here’s a peek at what’s on the agenda:
- Superintendent Search: Finalists to fill the superintendent position will be announced, as well as next steps. Superintendent Bill Olsen is retiring at the end of this academic year.
- 4-Tier Busing Presentation: Superintendent Bill Olsen is proposing that the current three-tier busing system—in which students are transported to school in three waves—be increased to four tiers. The move is an attempt to save money without cutting programs and services. Read the full proposal, here.
- Budget Update: Olsen will provide an update of the proposed budget for FY22, which was initially presented in January.
- COVID-19 and Spring Hybrid Schedule Updates: Olsen will present on COVID-19 in the district, followed by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Kerry Clery’s presentation of a revised timeline for the spring and a hybrid learning model progress update.
- School Calendar Vote: The School Committee is expected to vote on the calendar for the 2021-2022 school year.
