Westford Bicyclist Killed In Crash Identified

Authorities said Donald Crowell, 62, of Westford was killed on March 30 after he was hit by a car.

WESTFORD, MA — The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Westford Police released the identity of the man killed in a fatal bicycle crash in Westford on March 30 as Donald Crowell.

"The investigation into this matter remains active and ongoing at this time," the District Attorney's office said in a statement.

The 62-year-old bicyclist died after being struck by a Cadillac on Groton Road.

Authorities said the Cadillac was driving westbound on Route 40 when it struck the bicyclist, who was riding in the opposite direction. Crowell was rushed to Lowell General Hospital, where he died.

The driver remained at the scene. But no charges have been filed, according to authorities.
