The Westford Cultural Council is pleased to announce its new logo, designed by Ria Chawla of Westford, MA.

Ria’s design was chosen from several received for the WCC’s first-ever logo contest, open to high school and college students residing in Westford. Members of the WCC selected the winning design based on the artwork’s relevance and clarity in design, overall creativity and concept, and visual appeal and impact.

A member of the UMASS-Amherst Class of 2022, Ria chose Westford Academy’s colors – maroon
and gray – for the logo. She said of her logo design: “My time in Westford, as a student at Westford Academy, has taught me to be curious, learn, and grow – like a tree!”

Her decision to use heart-shaped leaves comes from the love and support she’s been surrounded by in Westford: “My teachers, peers, family, and friends have given me an accepting community and open environment full of love, to find myself and follow my dreams. What better than hearts to symbolize love?”

The logo, for which Ria was awarded $200 by the WCC, will be used on all Westford Cultural Council materials, including social media accounts, press releases, flyers, brochures, and posters.
