Westford Election Results: School Committee Newcomer Gets A Seat
Chris Sanders, Mingquan Zheng and Kathryn Clear took the top spots for Westford School Committee.

WESTFORD, MA — It was a rainy Election Day in Westford, but in the end, nearly 12 percent of registered voters cast ballots.
On Tuesday, only 2,510 of the 18,154 registered Westford voters came out to perform their civic duty and vote.
There were two contested races: Select Board and School Committee.

Select Board candidate John Cunningham came in ahead of Eric Barber-Mingo by more than 215 votes to take the seat that Mark Kost prepares to leave.
In the six-person race for School Committee, the three seats went to Chris Sanders, Mingquan Zheng and newcomer Kathryn Clear. Not only did clear beat out incumbent Avery Adam, but she came in with the second most votes.

The ballot question — a request for a property tax exemption for seniors — passed 1,588 to 334.
