
WESTFORD - The Westford Health Department and Aunties Sweet Shop will hold "WESTFEST,'' the Westford Food Truck Festival & Health +Wellness Fair offering various food vendors and family games on May 6.

WESTFEST will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 6 at the Abbot School, 25 Depot St. in Westford. The Health + Wellness Fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the same location. Admission to the event is free with tickets sold for children’s activities and prices for food truck items starting at $5.

“We are very excited to celebrate Westford’s community spirit with WESTFEST,” said Kat Rokita of Aunties Sweet Shop. “We made it our mission to create a family-focused Festival that supports local businesses, schools, non-profits and community groups. We have been met with such an overwhelming response by the community. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Inside the school gym, the Westford Health Department will offer a free Health + Wellness Fair. More than 40 vendors will be on hand to educate visitors about local health and wellness offerings and provide interactive health and wellness screenings, demonstrations, raffle prizes and giveaways.
Examples of free screenings and services include blood pressure, body mass index, pediatric dental, concussion education, elder services, mental health information, nutritional education, free children’s activities and much more. Additionally, Whole Foods will provide healthy cooking demonstrations during the fair.

New activitiesthis year include a dunk tank sponsored by Goldfish Swim School with the chance to dunk Scott Middlemiss, assistant principal of Nabnasset and Abbot schools; a Touch a Truck event provided by the Westford Police and Fire departments; and a DJ generously sponsored by Bullwinkel & Brooks, LLC.
The St. Martin Team at LAER Realty Partners will be back with their LAER Lion bounce house. And Gary Lavelle of CSA Graphics will have his t-shirt cannon on-site to launch WESTFEST tees into the crowd. Proceeds from children’s activities will benefit local community organizations and non-profits.
