Westford Partners With Lowell General To Vaccinate Seniors
The Cameron Senior Center will shuttle Westford residents who qualify to and from the Lowell mass vaccination site on Feb. 25.

WESTFORD, MA — The Cameron Senior Center will shuttle Westford residents to and from the Lowell mass vaccination site using its vans on Feb. 25 to get the coronavirus vaccine.
"Lowell General has generously provided the ability for blocks of appointments to be reserved for our vans," the town said in a statement of the town's partnership this week with Lowell General.
Seniors age 75 and older who have not yet received their first vaccination shot will have priority to sign up for one of the slots, followed by people 65 and older, as well as people with at least two health concerns that put them at a higher risk for serious COVID-19 complications.

The town did not say how many slots were available or how many days they planned to operate the shuttle.
"Once we have fulfilled the amount of people that we have capacity for on a given date, we will begin to schedule additional dates," the town said in a statement.
The partnership came Wednesday after Gov. Charlie Baker announced several significant changes to the vaccination rollout plan, including funneling more resources toward its largest vaccination sites at the expense of community-focused ones, and opening up the eligibility to seniors 65 and older and those with at least two health concerns.
Baker cautioned it could take up to one month for all newly eligible residents to get a first-dose appointment.
How to sign up:
