Westford Police Captain Edward Cossette: Obituary

WESTFORD, MA — Edward Cossette, a Westford police captain who served the department 32 years, died last month. He was 68 years old.

"Ed began his distinguished career with the Westford Police Department on May 7, 1974 as a Patrol Officer," his obituary reads. "He was promoted through the ranks over the years, achieving the title of Captain on July 10, 2000. He retired on September 1, 2006, after more than 32 years of dedicated service to the town of Westford."

Cossette died October 28. A funeral was held at St. Catherine in Westford November 10.

In lieu of flowers, loved ones are asked to contribute donations to Project Lifesaver International through the Westford Police Department or the Lowell General Cancer Center.
