Westford: Restaurants Can Deliver Beer And Wine Amid Coronavirus

The announcement comes as the governor signed a bill authorizing the temporary move for the state.

WESTFORD, MA — If you've been wanting to order a bottle of wine with your take-out, that's allowed in town now: Westford is allowing any restaurant or bar in town to sell alcoholic drinks to go until the end of the state of emergency, officials announced Friday.

The change - previously only package stores could sell beer and wine to go - comes the same day Gov. Charlie Baker signed a bill authorizing the move.

Effective immediately and until the end of the state of emergency, all on-premises licensees including bars, restaurants, hotels, taverns, clubs, war veterans’ clubs, and continuing care retirement communities can sell up to 192 ounces of malt beverages and 1.5 liters of wine for off-premises consumption if it's part of a food order from noon until midnight.
