Westford School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Westford is August 29. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Westford Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/28: Teachers Return
• 8/29: Pre-1st - 5 Classes Begin, Grades 6 & 9 Orientation
• 8/29 - 8/31: PreK & Kindergarten Orientation Days
• 8/30: Grades 7, 8, & 10–12 Classes Begin

September

• 9/1 - 9/4: No School (Labor Day Weekend)
• 9/5: PreK & Kindergarten Classes Begin, along with Kindergarten Extended Day Program

October

• 10/5: Grades 9-12 No School (Conferences)
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/10: No School for Students (Professional Development)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veteran’s Day)
• 11/20: 2-Hour Delay for Grades PreK and K-5 (Conferences)
• 11/21: Grades PreK and K-5 No School (Conferences)
• 11/22: Early Release
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/7: Early Release (Professional Development)
• 12/11: Grades 6-8 No School (Conferences)
• 12/12: 2.5-Hour Delay for Grades 6-8 (Conferences)
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Holiday Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Years Day)

• 1/16: No School for Students (Professional Development)
