Election 2020: How To Cast A Mail-In Ballot In Weston
Patch has details on early voting, mail-in voting and in-person voting for the Massachusetts state primary on Sept. 1.
WESTON, MA β The Massachusetts state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 1, but the election will be much different this year, thanks to the coronavirus. This year voters have the option of voting in-person on election day, as well as early voting and mail-in voting options.
The last day to register to vote for the Sept. 1 primary election is Saturday Aug. 22. You may register to vote online or in person. If you are unsure of your registration status, you can check online.
Vote By Mail
Vote by Mail Applications in Weston are available online. Residents can select "All 2020 Elections" in order to vote by mail for the State Primary, Town Election, and the Presidential Election. Applications and ballots can be dropped off in a secure drop box next to the double glass doors at Town Hall, which is checked throughout the day. It can also be mailed to Weston Town Clerk, P.O. Box 378, Weston, MA. 02493.

Vote by Mail Application Deadlines
The deadline to submit your Vote by Mail application (or absentee ballot application) are as follows:
- State Primary: August 26, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. (ballots are being mailed now)
- Town Election: September 3, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. (ballots will start being mailed the week of Aug. 17)
If you select "All 2020 Elections," the application must be submitted by the earliest deadline.

Early Voting
This is only for the State Primary β there is no in-person early voting for the Town Election. To vote early and in person for the State Primary, report to Town Hall, 11 Town House Road on one of the following days:
- Aug. 22 - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Aug. 23 - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Aug. 24 - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 25 - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 26 - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 27 - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 28 - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Person Voting, Day of
Remaining 2020 Election dates are as follows:
- State Primary: Sept. 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Annual Town Election: Sept. 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- State Election: Nov. 3, 2020
Changes to Polling Locations
For residents who wish to vote in person, please note the following changes to local polling locations.
For State and Presidential Elections:
- Precincts 1 and 2 are to report to Town Hall Auditorium (former polling location was the Methodist Church and St. Peters)
- Precincts 3 and 4 are to report to the Community Center (former polling location was St. Demetrios)
For the Annual Town Election
- All four precincts report to the Town Hall Auditorium
