A combination of school personnel, parents, community groups, farms, and students will present and discussΒ existing efforts around farm-to-school in Metrowest school districts. At least four districts will present their programs involving composting, gardening, parent/student education, and procurement of farm-fresh food. Special attention will be paid to the obstacles and challenges inherent in the Farm to School program, and how communities have overcome them. Resource sharing and Q&A will follow one hour of presentations. Β This event is free and open to the public.
A second conversation will take place on November 21st focusing on the issues of "supply and demand" and available resources surrounding farm-to-school efforts.
