Over 700 People Lose Power in Weston

High winds took down power lines and trees across the state causing power outages all over.

WESTON, MA- High winds took their toll on the state and Weston was hit particularly hard with 722 customers out of power in the city as of 1 p.m., according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

The number dwindled down to 467 by 8 p.m. according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

The whole state experienced heavy outages Monday with over 65,000 reported at 8 p.m. Wind speeds ranging from 46 mph to nearly 60 mph have been reported across the state this morning. The National Weather Service says the strongest winds are expected this afternoon.

Eversource took to Twitter to remind customers not to touch downed wires and report the incident to both police and the utility company.
