At the Pooch Parade & Festival on May 16 on the Weston Town Green, pooches and their people had fun while learning together, said organizers.

The Pooch Parade & Festival ticket sales benefitted Buddy Dog ​ Humane Society​, Operation Delta Dog and the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland, the Pooch Parade​ was a celebratory walk that circled the Weston Town Green and past the Reviewing Stand where “celebrity” judges reviewed and applauded the ​​pooches​, and then presented amusing awards, said the announcement. ​ ​

As part of the event, people and pooches e​xplored the ​samples, gifts, and service offerings and participated in fun contes​t​s. ​ ​Winners were selected for ​”​Pooch​-​Person Look-Alike​,” ​”​Best Singer​​,” ​”​Best Kisser,​”​ ​”​Best Tric​k” and more. ​

​On the Main Stage of the Festival, ​four experts gave short presentations​ on Canine First Aid​, Training, “Ask Dog Lady,” Fostering, and Pet Physical Therapy.
