Stinky Situation: Weston Activist Finds Dead Skunk In Mailbox

The activist told the Boston Globe she believes the skunk was planted there as political retaliation.

WESTON, MA β€” A Weston activist and former local political candidate woke up to stinky news in her mailbox on Saturday morning, but it wasn't mail β€” a dead skunk was in her mailbox.

Mary Ellen Sikes told the Boston Globe that her daughter opened the mailbox to find the dead skunk. Sikes ran for Weston's Select Board and is a known Democratic activist in town.

She told the Globe that she believes the animal was planted in her mailbox as political retaliation.
