Weston Annual Town Meeting Will Take Place On September 12

Special accommodations will be made for voters needing assistance in travelling between the parking lot and the field.

Annual Town Meeting Information - Know the Issues

  • Annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 3:00 p.m. on Proctor Football Field at the Weston High School. The annual meeting will be conducted outside this year due to public safety concerns due to the ongoing coronavirus public health emergency. If needed, the rain date is Sunday the 13th.
  • Please leave enough time to park, arrive at the field, and check-in. Tellers will be open at 2:00 p.m.
  • Special accommodations will be made for voters needing assistance in travelling between the parking lot and the field. Please park at the Middle School pool entrance to access those accommodations.
  • Facial coverings (e.g. mask) are required for all attendees. Residents who are sick or who are under quarantine are asked not to attend in the interest of public safety.
  • No visual presentations will be displayed, all meeting materials are available online for public review, including videos, PowerPoints, and the motions

Warrant (Agenda) - Know the Issues in Advance of Town Meeting

The Town Meeting Warrant and Budget Book has been mailed to every household and copies will be available at Town Meeting. The Warrant is available online and the recommended operating budget can be found at Weston.org/Budget along with the various reports that are a part of the annual Budget Book.

Voters are strongly encouraged to Know the Issues in advance of Town Meeting. There will be no visual displays during the proceedings. Video explanations and PowerPoint presentations of various articles have been posted to Weston.org/TownMeeting and all motions that will be made are available to view during the meeting or to print off in advance of the meeting.

Speaking at Town Meeting

Any person wishing to speak for or against a motion at Town Meeting should get on the list maintained by the Moderator. Please email moderator@westonma.gov. In your email, list the article number and your position (for or against).

Pages and Tellers Needed

The Moderator is seeking High School Students to participate as Pages during the meeting. This requires bringing a microphone to assist voters wishing to speak. Additionally, help is be needed in guiding people toward the check-in area. Community Service Credit will be given in exchange for your assistance.

Tellers should be 18+ and are needed to help count votes in the event a standing count is needed. Placards are being used instead of the electronic handheld devices.
