Weston Drama Workshop productions running through July 27

Weston Drama Workshop presents the 57th Summer Season in residence at Regis College Fine Arts Center, 235 Wellesley St, Weston. The season features over 180 participants from the MetroWest and Greater Boston communities. Matilda, Disney's Finding Nemo Jr., The Wolves, Spring Awakening, and Legally Blonde run until July 27. Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr.

With a score by Tony and Grammy award-winning song-writing team, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (of Avenue Q, Disney’s Frozen and Disney’s Coco) this 60 minute production is perfect for children of all ages. The show chronicles the journey of the 2003 Disney/Pixar animated film.

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
