Weston Eases Up On Temporary Leash Order

Dogs can now be off leash on conservation lands in the mornings.

WESTON, MA β€” Weston dogs will have a bit more room to roam in the mornings. The town announced on Wednesday that the leash order will not be imposed before 10 a.m.

Dogs under voice control can be walked off leash on all Weston Conservation Land from dawn until 10:00 a.m., Sunday through Saturday. Face coverings/masks are still required if physical distancing of six feet cannot be maintained.

Dogs must be leashed from 10:00 a.m. until sunset on all Weston Conservation Land.

The town said if the state reverses course in its reopening plan and goes back to phase 2, the order will revert to dogs being leashed at all times. Dogs must be kept on a short leash on the Mass Central Rail Trail at all times.
