WESTON, MA – Weston High School football has been granted independent status for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, according to Athletic Director Michael McGrath.

First reported by the Boston Herald's Danny Ventura, and confirmed by McGrath in an email, the Wildcats will play a completely independent schedule for the next two seasons. Weston's Thanksgiving Day game against Wayland will continue as scheduled, but it will not play Bedford, Boston Latin and Concord-Carlisle, according to McGrath.

Last season, Weston went 3-8 overall and 0-4 in league play, finishing last in the Dual County League Small, according to MaxPreps.
