Weston Mourns Fire Department Veteran Of 44 Years
The Weston Firefighters Association L3660 is raising funds for the family of the firefighter, who had stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
WESTON, MA β Weston Fire Department on Thursday was mourning the death of Captain Dwight βBuckyβ Robertson who died recently after a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
In a social media post, the fire department said Robertson began his career in Weston in 1975 when he was appointed as a call firefighter. He was made a permanent firefighter in 1981 and a lieutenant in 2005.
The department said Robertson became a captain in 2008. Over the last 13 years, he also served as the department's fire prevention officer.

A GoFundMe was created to help Robertson's family cover his medical and funeral expenses. As of Thursday, the fundraiser had far surpassed its $25,000 goal and brought in more than $40,000.
According to the GoFundMe page, Robertson leaves behind a wife and two children along with countless friends and mentees within the Waltham Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements had not been announced as of Thursday afternoon.
