Weston Traffic: Conant Road and Merriam Street Construction
Expect some delays driving down Conant Road and Merriam Street
WESTON, MA β Construction is starting on some Weston Roads that could affect your daily commute for a few weeks. Conant Road and Merriam Street will both be under construction with detours in place. The town is warning commuters to expect some additional travel time if driving over these roads.
The portion of Contant Road over the Mass Central Rail Trail will be closed starting June 3rd to approximately July 3rd as contractors for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), working with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (DOT), reopens the long-blocked underpass of the bridge. This is the final phase of the state's Mass Central Rail Trail project and will allow for the unimpeded access on the newly installed rail trail from Wayland to the trestle bridge at the Waltham town line. The timing of this project involved the coordination of several utilities and state organizations, as well as the availability of state funds.
The immediate area will be closed to traffic during construction as crews open up the road to install tunnel infrastructure. The detour will be in place at Conant Road to Pigeon Hill from the north side and traffic will be directed from Conant Road towards to Church Street on the south side. A map is available online with specific detail.
