Weston's 2018 Memorial Day Parade And Plans

WESTON, MAβWeston has a long tradition of Memorial Day traditions.
It continues this year on Monday, May 28, beginning with the traditional 9:15 a.m. ringing of the Paul Revere bell at First Parish Church by representatives from the Weston Scouts as a call to all residents to come to Town Hall.
The annual Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the Sears Auditorium with the Weston Police and Fire departments' Honor Guard. The Weston High School Band and a cappella singers perform and the guest speaker is Lt. Colonel Shannon Brown USMC, who is currently assigned as a Fellow in the Securities Studies Program at MIT.

Following the service, the WHS Marching Band, escorted by the Honor Guards, lead the parade with Weston veterans in antique cars supplied by the DeVito family. Parent-supervised, uniformed Weston youth sports teams and Weston Scouts with children's carts and decorated bicycles are encouraged to join in the parade. The traditional wreath-laying at the town's cemeteries will be honored with Taps played.
