Weston's Spellman Museum to Host Smithsonian Day
The museum will be open free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers this Saturday.
WESTON, MA β The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston will offer free admission to readers of the Smithsonian magazine on Saturday.
The museum is participating in the 12th annual Smithsonian Museum Day, which celebrates culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge in the spirit of Smithsonian magazine.
Last year, more than 400,000 people attended Museum Day at over 900 participating museums. This year, the magazine expects to involve upwards of 1,000 museums.

Spellman Museum Education Director Henry Lukas said the day "is a great way to bring new people to see the museum's various exhibits and learn all it has to offer to the community."
Current exhibits at Spellman include "The History of the Olympics on Stamps," "The Road to the White House," "Stamps and the Comics," "A History of the Boston Post Road" and "The Development of Rural Free Delivery."

"You don't have to be a stamp collector to enjoy the museum's displays," Lukas said in an announcement.
All children will receive a free packet of stamps and can do stamp hunts in the galleries.
Visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday to download the Museum Day admission card. Attendees must present the card to gain free entry to participating institutions. Each card provides museum access for two people, and one admission card is permitted per household. Listings and links to participating museums can also be found at www.smithsonian.com/museumday.
