Suspect allegedly had drugs, cash on him at the time of the arrest, as well as a revolver stashed in a sock.

Boston Police arrested a man in West Roxbury late last week on charges of possessing and planning to sell oxycodone, crack and cocaine.

Boston Police pulled over 36-year-old James Cooper on Spring Street last Friday around 1:30 p.m., after tailing him from what they allege were multiple drug deals in the Mattapan and Dorchester area.

Police say Cooper, of West Roxbury, was the target of a drug distribution investigation, and that they witnesses him meeting with multiple people and conducting "hand-to-hand exchanges" they believed to be drug sales.

His license was revoked, police say, and so they tailed him to Spring Street, where the pulled him over for that offense. Police say they then searched Cooper, revealing a plastic bag containing crack cocaine, cocaine, and oxycodone pills (all packaged for sale), as well as over $300 in US currency. A search of the motor vehicle revealed a loaded Rossi Interarms .38 Special revolver inside a sock in the driver’s side door panel. Further investigation showed that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Brockton in 2016. (Pictured above, courtesy Boston Police Department)
