WEST ROXBURY, MA — The man who killed his father inside their West Roxbury home in 2014 was sentenced today to life in prison, according to the Suffolk District Attorney's office. After he spends 15 years in prison he'll be eligible for parole. But he also faces a two year term for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Mark Tomas Regan, 38, was found guilty of the second-degree murder in which he shot his father, Mark Thomas Regan,66, inside their Perham Street home. The day of the shooting two Needham FedEx coworkers came by the house looking for the older Regan, and the younger man told them he was out with friends, according to the DA at the time.

Concerned for his well-being, friends called police who came to the home and found the father's body, and the younger man hiding in the attic, according to reports at the time.

An obituary for the older Regan said he had a daughter and another son and also left behind his wife.
