William E. Donnelly, retired Boston Police Department member passed in West Roxbury on Nov. 16.

He is the beloved husband of Claire (Coveney). Loving father of Claire Marie and her husband Dave Bergeron, Sheila Anne Donnelly, Patricia Anne, Sean Patrick (BFD) and his wife Jennifer. Loving grandfather of Christopher, James, Sarah and Addison Donnelly. Brother of Susan, John, Michael, Nancy, Margaret, Jerome, Alan, Kathleen, Maureen and Ann Marie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home on 2055 Centre St. in West Roxbury on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 3 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to massfallenheroes.org.

Donnelly was Vietnam Veteran, U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Armored Division, Recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the B.P.D. Honor Guard.
