West Roxbury Little Leaguer With Down Syndrome Saves Season Finale

WEST ROXBURY, MA — A West Roxbury little league player with Down syndrome got to live his dream during the final game of the year.

All 12-year-old Brayden Gero wanted to do was record the final out for his team. With two outs in the last inning, the young boy who spent most of the season playing outfield was called to the mound, where he only needed three pitches to send the batter down swinging and pick up the save.

Gero's trip to the mound is getting attention online. Thousands of people have viewed the save on the Little League social media accounts, which in turn have been shared by even more people. Even MLB.com has caught wind of Gero.
