2021 Westwood Community Chest Gala of Giving Successful

Westwood Community Chest (WCC)* wishes to thank Westwood because the 2021 Westwood Community Chest Gala of Giving was a tremendous success. The talent, the food, the supporters, and virtual attendees made for a fantastic evening of "neighbors helping neighbors."

A big thank you to their premier sponsor, Roche Brothers. WCC says that "They have been an incredible partner, stepping up as our first sponsor years ago and standing with us ever since." WCC also extends thank yous to Chiara Bistro for preparing the food and drink, to the Westwood Media Center for their partnership on our virtual program, and the Westwood Public Schools and Chris Trapper for the entertainment. "Many thanks to those who purchased tickets, attended, or made donations – we are truly humbled by your generosity."

For over 15 years, the heart of the WCC mission has stayed the same – to help our neighbors in need with emergency funding when a crisis arises. During this time, WCC's donors helped provide over a million dollars in emergency funding to more than four hundred Westwood residents – that means almost $300,000 for summer camps for over five hundred children, over $450,000 to help people with the basics like rent/mortgages, utility, heat and medical bills; and almost $70,000 to help pay property taxes. WCC has launched its 2021 Summer Campership program to help neighbors in need send their children to summer camp.
