Alice’s Table by Traci Ready is a Fun Floral Education!

Alice's Table South of Boston is a great opportunity to learn about flowers while having fun!

Disclaimer: I attended this Alice’s Table South of Boston event at no cost to myself thanks to Traci Ready. This in no way affected my view of the event.

I reached out as Westwood Patch Mayor to Alice’s Table South of Boston owner Traci Ready earlier this summer. I had seen her event on the Patch Calendar, and I was curious to learn more about Alice’s Table events. I attended “Patriotic Affair At Chiara” at Westwood’s Chiara Bistro on Tuesday the 28th of August.

Alice’s Table states that their mission is to “[bring] women together to learn new skills, and live a social and creative lifestyle. Our goal is to be the bright spot in the modern busy woman’s life - the thing she looks forward to at home and on the town.” It comes across as the combination of the ubiquitous paint/plant night and a Multi-level marketing (MLM) company. Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban and Sara Blakely gave Alice’s Table a deal in 2018.

Traci Ready’s Alice’s Table South of Boston was founded in 2016, before Shark Tank led Alice’s Table’s popularity to explode. In her opener, Ready spoke of her longtime love of flower arranging starting in her youth. Although this style of statement is the bread and butter of MLM representatives, she speaks the truth. She is passionate and intelligent about flowers and leaves her customers with not just arrangements, but also knowledge about flowers: from why the hydrangeas bought at the grocery store have trouble staying alive, to the best place to get roses and how to keep them as pretty as possible.

Chiara Bistro is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely looking menu; however, I observed some participants struggling to both have food on the table and cut flowers. Alice’s Table’s FAQ site states “Our events start off with a mixology demonstration and are followed by a class where you learn the art of flower arranging. Each guest takes home a beautiful arrangement of their own creation.” At the event at Chiara Bistro, there was a lovely flower arrangement made, but no mixology-participants ordered their own drinks if they so desired.

Alice’s Table South of Boston is an option for groups of people who would love a fun activity with their friends who want to create something beautiful. Interested? You can follow Traci Ready’s Facebook page, Alice’s Table South of Boston, and Instagram.
