Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day Coming September 22
$10 collection will include items such as aerosols, mercury thermometers, and more.
Westwood’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Day will be on September 22 from 9am-12pm. It will be located at the 50 Carby St Public Works location, and the cost will be $10 per car (larger vehicles subject to possible larger fee, cash or check only). This is for Westwood residents only.
Unsure what exactly “household hazardous waste” is? The Public Works Department gives examples of aerosol cans (think: the spray paint and oven cleaner that’s been in your cabinet forever), the antifreeze in your garage, rubber cement, and insecticides.
Not permitted are things including ammunition, driveway sealer, old TV’s, and smoke detectors.
The Public Works website has more information, or you may call 781-251-2587.
