Blue Hills Bank And Rockland Trust Merge: Will Your Branch Close?
Blue Hills Bank and Rockland Trust are seeking to merge. Their request for closing bank branches has been released.

As announced last year, Blue Hills Bank and Rockland Trust Company are seeking to merge. As both banks have locations in Westwood, it appeared to be possible that a Westwood-based branch would close. The banks' filing with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Division of Banks states that the Blue Hills Bank branch in Westwood/Islington (in University Station) will remain open, but the Rockland Trust on High Street in Westwood (in the old Colburn School) will close. Also, the Blue Hills Bank branch on Lenox Street in Norwood will close.
These closings are subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Banks. The filing also states that "Any objections or comments relative to these proposals must be communicated in writing to
the Commissioner of Banks, 1000 Washington Street, 10th Floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02118 no
later than February 27, 2019. A public hearing may be held if the response is considered significant
or circumstances warrant such a hearing, as determined by the Commissioner."
