Buckmaster Pond Drowning Victim ID'd
A 56-year-old man who went to the pond with his brother died in Westwood.

WESTWOOD, MA — The man who drowned in Buckmaster Pond Thursday afternoon has been identified. Westwood Police said James Kane, 56, appeared to suffer a medical issue before submerging in the water around 2:20 p.m. He was swimming had gone to the pond with his brother.
Kane was pulled the water by a rescue diver. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Norwood Hospital. The exact cause of death is unknown, but it isn't suspected to be suspicious, police said.
Swimming is not allowed in Buckmaster Pond, which is the secondary water source for Westwood.

Kane's death is the third drowning in Massachusetts over the last 24 hours.
